In The Night Garden Birthday Party

Last weekend we were invited to a rather special In The Night Garden Birthday party, one which was to celebrate the 1st anniversary of the In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride in CBeebies Land at Alton Towers. Now we have one huge ‘In The Night Garden’ in our house in the form of one 15 months old named Charlotte; we now have to watch it every evening as part of our bedtime routine. As soon as that clock strike 6.20pm then on goes ITNG for her to sit and watch with her cuddly toys, I cannot tell you how adorable it is to see, and it is nice that her brothers sit and join her quietly to watch.

The kids were ecstatic to be invited to a party where they could hang out with some of their favourite characters. We were treated to lots of entertainment, and we got to witness Iggle Piggle receiving his Guinness Book Of Records certificate for his record-breaking GIANT blanket. And you see that cake? Well, we got to have a slice (or 2), and it was as yummy as it looks!

There were lots to do, and our eldest Oli had lots of fun colouring in and putting together a ball full of beads for him and his sister. He was like a kid at Christmas when it came to the buffet, and he saw they had put on burgers and hot dogs, and there was me thinking he might get bored that day.

Charlotte, as we expected, had a fun time, she enjoyed hanging out with the characters and even got into the party spirit with Daddy and wore some party hats which were lovingly made by me. She made me realise how quickly she is growing up, one minute I am talking to Emma from Brummy Mummy Of 2, and then the next Charlotte ditches me because she wants to go sit down next to all the big girls. I demand she stays 15 months forever and continues to like programmes such as In The Night Garden.

Of course, when we finished partying we went and explored Cbeebies Land for ourselves with our first ride being The In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride. I am kicking myself for not bringing my DSLR along as a low phone battery meant I couldn’t take photos on the ride, but then I am secretly glad of this as you need to see it with your own eyes to see for yourself just how magical the ride is.

You could easily mistake where you are and think that you have fallen asleep and entered the In The Night Garden yourself. The kid’s amazed faces said it all; I think Charlotte at 15 months thinks we have taken her to her favourite place.

After we had finished that magical ride, we went and explored the rest of the rides in Cbeebies Land. We had the most wonderful family day out, and we cannot rave enough about the entertainment on offer, the quality of the rides and the fantastic customer service. It has topped our days out list and has even nudged us in the direction of purchasing Merlin Annual Passes.
