We’ve put together a list of 8 things to bring with you for a day trip in the car. Remember this isn’t a completely extensive list and this can be tailored depending on where you’re going. It’s also essential to think about who you bring with you, for example, your kids.
- CAR ROOF BOX
Especially if you have a car! You want to pack your best Roof Box (that’s essential!) Essentially a roof box is a large box that is attached to a vehicle securely. Roof boxes are designed to pack your items, e.g. bags, suitcases, camping cooking equipment etc.
- FUN PLAYING CARDS
Don’t forget to bring the cards for any of the day trips you’ve planned!
- WALLET & KEYS
And of course, don’t forget to bring with you some money! You want to ensure you do this. Especially if you’re going abroad that you change up the currency. Most of the time you can get a better exchange rate when you’re in the country you’re travelling in. Some people advise you to take with you 50% in your native currency and 50% in the country you’re going to.
- PASSPORT & IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS
I always bring with me some Photo ID, especially if I’m travelling abroad (it’s what you need to board the plane!).
- PACK SOME TASTY GRUB
Caribbean food is a real tasty treat to bring with you on a day out! You could consider making some yourself, or you could reach out to a Caribbean caterer.
- MOBILE SMARTPHONE
And don’t forget your mobile smartphone! You never know, you might need it for directions.
- EXTRA BATTERY FOR YOUR MOBILE SMARTPHONE
A spare battery for your mobile phone can be a lifesaver! Especially if you’re regularly getting low on battery, why not pack a few of them?
- WATERPROOF RAINCOAT/JACKET

EXTRA BONUS TIP
Here is an extra bonus tip just for you! Why not bring a spare tyre (you know, just in case of an emergency) and a first aid kit! You should also consider bringing some water with you; you can buy from the supermarket a 5-litre bottle of water which is plenty for one person. Also, they are quite inexpensive too!
