Brighton for a long time has been one of my favourite places; I fell in love with it long before I had even stepped foot there. It was the backdrop for the channel 4 teen drama Sugar Rush which I think I was around 16 when it aired on TV, and I adored everything I saw about Brighton. I finally got the chance to visit for the first time at 21, and I was utterly mesmerised by this seaside town. When we moved to Portsmouth, I was able to visit more often, but then we had to move back up towards the Midlands. Fast forward a few years, and it was suggested that we have a girls weekend in Brighton.
We spent that first day exploring the lanes, having fun (and doughnuts) on the pier and enjoying the sunny weather. Every time I visit I find new places to explore or I see something that I didn’t notice before as I was walking too quickly.
I think one of my favourite things about the trip was going to a local Chinese where we could grab a takeaway box for £5 and fill it with food from all you can eat buffet, grabbing a bottle of fizz from the shop and sitting on the beach to watch the sunset. We then headed back to our hostel (The Grapevine Seafront Hostel) to get ready to dance the night away.
There was only one thing to do that next morning before heading home, and that was to hit up JBs American Diner for a rather delicious American style breakfast.
