As LEGOLAND Ambassadors, we were rather excitedly invited to the premiere of ‘The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure’ at LEGOLAND Windsor. They have reunited our favourite characters from The LEGO Movie, who have now been invited to visit a strange new theme park where all the rides are inspired by the madcap events of their previous movie. All isn’t how it seems, though when the heroes are once again thrust into the middle of a secret evil plot and must rely on the Master Builder skills of a surprise ally to save the day.
LEGOLAND is the ultimate place to be for any LEGO fan and as a household of LEGO lovers, we woke up sooooo excited on the morning of the showing and could not wait to arrive. Upon arrival, we headed to some of our favourite rides and explored miniland, something we can just never tire of no matter how many times we visit. When the time came, we followed the crowd of VIP lanyards and excited faces to the cinema.
It was given the premiere it deserved with celebrities everywhere, and I am not on about the likes of Ben Shepherd, The X-Files’ Gillian Anderson, Bake Off champion Nadiya Hussain and Emma Bunton who was there but I mean the actual stars of the show themselves – Emmett, Wyldstyle, Unikitty and Benny.
On our way into the cinema, we were handed some glasses and shown our seats. The slight difference here with us though is that in theory, we have a disabled person with us. Dylan has autism and the only way we knew he would be happy enough to cope with the environment we were about to take him into is if we kept him in his pushchair. The staff were fantastic with us after I explained to them that in theory we use it as a wheelchair, we were sat in a place which accommodated this and we were by the exit in case we needed to get Dylan out of that environment asap. We liked the open seating plan that was set up for the film and how it was made so that everyone had a good view of the screen, I am sure I am not alone in having to of put kids on laps in the past at other places for kids to have a decent view of what is happening.
The film was not only brought to life by being 4D, but with special effects and surprises which are guaranteed to make the little ones squeal with excitement, I know Oli at 7 & Charlotte at 2 loved the detail which went into the whole mini film experience. There were laughs had by all of us and it complimented the first film well; we already plan on watching it again at our next visit. Well, we’ve already watched The LEGO Movie 205,000* times since it’s release!

Naturally after the film we went and explored some more of the park raced each other on the firetrucks and spent lots of money stocking up on even more LEGO. We love our days out at LEGOLAND, and each time we find something new is happening such as ‘The LEGO Movie 4D A New Adventure’. This month sees the start of LEGO Star Wars Days which are going to be AMAZING. We have already taken a look at the Star Wars miniland with its amazing centrepiece of the Death Star, and there is not a Star Wars/LEGO fan around which isn’t going to be wowed by it!
